Eagle NPW5 Kite
flown in Shimoda Park, Japan
I had to make a special kite for my trip to Japan April 2002.
The kite is a 1.5m2 NPW5 and my first attempt at applique. All those cool
bird NPWs the builders were sending me pictures of inspired me.

This NPW5, built Feb. 2002, has been a lot of fun.

I adapted
the face from clip-art I had on a CD and printed it out full size.
I flew the kite in Shimoda Park. It is located approximately 400 miles north
of Tokyo, located on the northeastern part of Honshu, Japan's main island. This
beautiful park contains a lake that is part of the migratory path of swans. They
hold an anual Shimoda Swan Festival in March.
