The Freedom 2000 Quad

First Flight 5/10/2003

* Fast and very responsive
* Does a full range of stunts
* Easy to build and transport

I had really been enjoying flying the NPW9b quad (four lines). I love being able to really fly it, responding to the wind going where I wanted. Then at M.I.K.E. 2003 I saw what quad flat kites like the Revolution and the Tirips could do. So I built this Freedom 2000 to experience this kind of stunt flying. Turns out a number of my NPW9b friends also fly the Freedom 2000.
This kite has very little pull and takes slight control changes. It will easily fly in reverse and hover.

First Impressions:
This kite flew well the first time. Controlling it was more challenging than I had thought, but flying the NPW9b had me able to keep it flying without crashing. It is very responsive and fast. I was able to do some reverse launches right from the start. It should provide many hours of flying enjoyment!
